Doublewide Mobile Homes For Sale By Owners
The two major sizes are single-wides and double-wides. Double-wides are mobile homes that exceed twenty feet or more wide and are 90 feet (27 m) in length or less and are towed to their site in two separate units, which are then joined together. They are built in the factory as a single unit with allowances for separation of the units and ability to be relocated from the building site. Doublewide mobile homes are by fa the most popular of mobile homes. Engineering technology today has greatly raised the bar as to the standard of construction of the double wide mobile home bringing many to the same quality of built homes. Often double wide mobile homes are set on permanent foundations.
While these houses are usually placed in one location and left there permanently, they do retain the ability to be moved as this is a requirement in many areas. Behind the cosmetic work fitted at installation to hide the base, there are strong trailer frames, axles, wheels and tow-hitches.
